
The AMA(SA) Doctors in Training
(DiT) Committee meets regularly to discuss a range of topics
that influence the lives and careers of young doctors. For
example, working hours, unpaid overtime, meal breaks, workplace
facilities, access to study leave, accommodation and remuneration
are some of the concerns addressed by the committee.
The DiT Committee plays
an important role in the AMA(SA) in terms of policy development
and advocacy on behalf of junior doctors, and the committee's
advocacy directly contributed to the establishment of the
SA Medical Careers Expo.
The AMA(SA) works with both
medical school societies and the major training hospital
RMO Societies to promote professional and social activities
for young doctors.The federal AMA's Council of Doctors in
