The AMA(SA) regularly provides comment and background information to the media on a range of health and medico-legal issues. Media comment from the AMA(SA) is usually provided by the President or an AMA(SA) Councillor, and is co-ordinated by the AMA(SA) office, which can be contacted on (08) 8267 4355.

The AMA also publishes a range of publications, which include the Medical Journal of Australia (MJA), Australia's leading fortnightly scientific and academic medical journal, and Australian Medicine, the federal AMA's fortnightly news publication.

The state branches of the AMA also publish state-based publications, including the AMA(SA)'s own medicSA, which features the latest state-based political, industrial and membership news, as well as features on topics of particular relevance to medical practitioners and medical students in South Australia.medicSA is published and distributed to AMA(SA) members 10 times a year, and media subscriptions are also available.
