Mr Mitchell Giles
Student Representative on
Council - Flinders University
Mitchell Giles is currently
completing his third year of the Flinders University graduate
entry medical program in the Riverland PRCC, where he is
based in Waikerie on the Murray River. Growing up in the
coastal town of Port Lincoln, he migrated to Adelaide to
complete his secondary schooling at Pembroke School.
In 2007 he completed his
Bachelor of Health Science, completing his Honours thesis
on Isolated Limb Infusion for Stage III Melanoma with the
University of Adelaide’s Department of Surgery.
Over the past two years, Mitch has worked
on a bid for the AMSA executive in 2008, as well as Co-Chairing
the Flinders University Surgical Society in 2009. His interests
have thus far being in all aspects of the health care system,
with particular interest in rural and remote medicine as
well as research and innovation in the prevention and treatment
of melanoma.
Outside of medicine, Mitch is an avid
golfer as well as enjoying the great fishing that Port Lincoln
has to offer.
