After three years of postgraduate hospital training Dr Peter Ford entered private general practice in the Tea Tree Gully area, and he has now been in general practice for over 25 years. He is a Clinical Lecturer with the University of Adelaide, a Clinical Examiner with the RACGP, and is a Panel Member of the Professional Services Review Tribunal.

Dr Ford is a former Chairman of the local Division of General Practice and was Manager of Aged Care Programmes. His professional interests include the AMA, and supporting medical student and postgraduate general practice training. Currently he is Federal AMA Treasurer and an AMPCo Board Member.
