Dr Margie Cowling has been a full time Consultant in Anaesthesia at Flinders Medical Centre since 1999.Prior to this her work was a mixture of public and private practice.

Dr Cowling has pursued her interest in promoting high quality, safe anaesthetic care through her involvement with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA), both on a state and national level, over the last 15 years.

She recently retired from ANZCA Council after 5 years of service but remains an examiner for the Final Fellowship Examination, the ANZCA representative on the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards and a member of the ANZCA Quality and Safety Committee.

Outside medicine she has an interest in history and politics, and enjoys walking, tennis and gardening
