Dr Heather Cain
MB BS, FRCPA, MAACB
Craft Group Representative
for Pathologists
Dr Heather Cain studied
medicine at the University of Adelaide, and is a member
of the Australasian Association of Clinical Biochemists
and the Australian Institute of Medical Scientist. Dr Cain
has worked at the TQEH, FMC and Women’s and Children’s
Hospital (WCH), where she was a consultant chemical pathologist.
She also dedicated three
years to research as a recipient of the Fauldings Lyn Wrigley
Scholarship in Breast Cancer. During this period she cloned
and sequenced the apolipoprotein D gene. She now works in
a group private practice.
Her areas of interest include
tumour markers, quality control, and medical education,
and she has co-authored several textbooks for students and
doctors in training.
