Dr Elinor Atkinson

for Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
Dr Elinor Atkinson is a
senior consultant in obstetrics and gynaecology at Flinders
Medical Centre, and a clinical senior lecturer at Flinders
University. Her clinical interests include obstetrics, gynaecological
endoscopy and colposcopy. After working as a full-time consultant
at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital from
1993 -2002, she continues to provide paediatric and adolescent
gynaecology services at WCH as well as Flinders Medical
centre.
She trained at the Royal
Adelaide, Queen Victoria and The Queen Elizabeth Hospitals,
with two years at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford,
UK. A member of several
special interest groups in obstetrics and gynaecology, she
was foundation secretary and treasurer of the Australian
Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology and a
past president of the Australian Society for Psychosocial
Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Dr Atkinson is an examiner
for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics
and Gynaecology (RANZCOG) Diploma of Obstetrics, and has
been active on the SA State Committee of RACOG and RANZCOG’s
SA Training and Accreditation Committee.
